Our Mission

The Chi Sigma Alumni Chapter (Northern New Jersey) Social Action Committee looks to implement The General and Regional Board programs to aide and improve our communities. It is a pleasure to serve you individually and collectively as Men of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated. Please continue to support our efforts as we strive to live out our fraternity’s motto of “Culture for Service and Service for Humanity”.

Social Action

Phi Beta Sigma has from its very beginning concerned itself with improving the general well-being of minority groups. In 1934, a well-defined program of Social Action was formulated and put into action. The Social Action project was concieved in the mind of Brother Elmo M. Anderson, President of Epsilon Sigma Chapter(New York, 1934). Some social action projects have focused on:

1. American Cancer Society
2. March of Dimes
3. Project Vote
4. AIDS/HIV Epidemic
5. Sigma Presence on Capital Hill
6. Living Well
